lily

The most beautiful face ever
Frames her ice blue eyes
Tiny light brown teeth
Sulk in her miniature mouth
Arranged into a delicate overbite
She is so fragile
She aught to be carried everywhere
Her voice crackles
Soft as her blond curls
She is too pale for California
I wish I could protect her from
Whatever it is she is running from
But I cannot
Only the junk can
At the Needle Exchange
I hand her clean needles
And all that walks away
Is her form
